Inspirational Poster Journal Entry

  1. Why did you use the pictures you have chosen and what do the chosen pictures add to your purpose of inspiring your viewers?
I use a picture of a boy and a girl because a girl's smile show that she was really kind, and friendly. That is my own definition of "beautiful". Which it mean begin beautiful inside and out. We really never know how many people we've met in our life actually like our smile that show kind.

  1. What elements have you used in your poster that create an inspiring effect?
I have elements that I used for:

  • Lighting: Natural lighting from outside
  • Narrative: Telling story about begin positive about humans' smiles
  • Frame: Curvy green lines around the page for the border. Red line around "Smile" and "Beautiful". There also have thinking/dreaming graphic have a frame too.
  • Editing: A lot of editing is required for this poster.
  • Point of view: In the normal level point of view.
  1. How inspired would your viewers be? Would they just nod and say “that’s good” or would they go “wow, that’s really good” with goosebumps or something like that? What could you have done better with your poster to make people get goosebumps?
My viewers would go with "That's good". My poster would make everyone smile and they   would may wonder if their secret admirer may think in that way. Or it could be any anyone, it didn't matter if boy or girl may feel related to the same experience. This poster make me      smile too, and it made me think of my own experience when someone told me I'm beautiful.

"Keep Smiling..."

Keep Smiling. You never know someone may say you are beautiful.

During in the process of making inspirational poster. I was surfing the Internet and save inspirational images that I really liked. I opened my flies in new window to think and find a new ideas.

I started to develop my new idea on the sketch drawing paper. Once my media art teacher, Tammy approved my idea, I asked my good friend, Sako to become my supermodel for my inspirational poster. I also started to develop my really good drawing by using crayon. I didn't find my other supermodel for a girl. That's what happen before Christmas.

So now when we come back from Christmas break, I was struck. Sako didn't show up due to confused bus schedule for Residence. I needed to get a back up plan, so I found Robert and Isabel for my supermodel and capture the great shot before designing poster started.  Of course, I had to fired my friend at later week when he finally showed up..... :(

I edited my drawing to become more smooth white background to avoid wrinkle on paper. I used a easer and magic tool to delete the old background to create a white background.

When I was editing photograph of Robert and Isabel, my first idea was to keep some background and created a sky background. After I finished, I went back to crayon coloured poster and it didn't really blended well together. So I deleted all background and kept two students with created white background.

I asked Robert to write down by his handwriting for dreaming/thinking graphic and then deleted background before create a white background. And then I used stroke to make sure that graphic is easy to see.

I noticed my final process of poster had some mistake so I went back to photoshop to fix the spelling mistakes. Then I can finally post my final finished assignment.

P.S. I also created a new message for the poster.
